I am happy today! Electra is at the vets getting spayed as we speak, and she was such a good girl! she is finally starting to catch on to the training I have been doing with her, but we went out to the gate, and she sat down without a leash and without being asked and she waited politly for me and my mom to pass through, wated till I called her, then she ran to the back door of the car and sat down and waited for me to open her door and invite her in, then she stayed in the back the whole time, and when we arrived I didnt have to teel her to wait, she just ran to her door and waited for me to get to her, we did our sit and waits at the doors to the vets office, and while we waited to see the vet, I made her lay down quietly at my feet despite the other doggies and the kitties in her line of sight. when invited I allowed her to get up and greet the other dogs politely, and ones it was enough I made her lay back down and she was good! I made her heel to the scale, and she hopped on and sat down perfectly still, so the vet was really happy and was able to get a good reading, then she stood politly and quietly on the tabel while the vet examined her and till I let her down. everyone kept commenting on how well behaved she was!! it took a bit of extra effort when a lady came in with a big dog that was bouncing and barking like a manic, but I did not allow her to greet the dog until she layed down and relaxed. she was the only one in the waiting room not acting like a psyco dog lol

ok I feel better now lol, I really do love Electra, I promise, but 2 days of pulling stunts like that....! we made up and cuddled last night, and she is still my "Baby". the rest of her tests came back, all clear, so its just mild Epilepsy and Allergies causing her issues. I will be re-booking her spay ASAP and they said they will alter the drugs and such that she gets to take into account Epilepsy. the vets office is closed now, so I will call to reschedual tommorow.

work was fun today.....oh it WAS at first, I had a groom yesterday that was unexpected...all it said in the book was bath combo with a trim around the feet..so I am expecting like a golden retreiver type dog or something...nope. in walks an Eskie with the biggest coat I have ever seen..seriously..this dog made a Sheltie look short coated. so I ask them what exactly they are looking for..they said they wanted up tidied up all over..basicly looking like a DOG again lol..oh boy..so it took me 2 hours, I trimed his feet and his bum, then I shorted his litteral 7" long feathers, rounded out his pants, tail and mane, shaped his waist a bit so it looked like he..ya know HAD one, and carved out his ears..you couldnt find them in his giant mane. then I bathed and dried and brushed him etc.. but then I wasnt there when he went home, but when I got inm this morning there was a note that the owners were THRILLED with his groom and asked the girl who had been on to thank me for them :) then the afternoon hit. it was a very bloody afternoon..the kennel owners are out of town..an one of their Danes got in a fight with one of their relatives Labs. the damage is not serious at all, its just the locations...the ear on the lab has a small bite(and we all know how much THOSE bleed) and the flews on the Dane are punched through..THAT is bleeding like you would not believe..we had not been too concerned about him because it has stopped bleeding within a couple minutes, so we were foacsed on the Lab, but then the Labs ear calmed down and the Danes lips started bleeding again..and continued bleeding to the point that I had to call for help after scrubbing the blood from the bathroom 3 times, and everytime I looked having the bathroom not just spattered with blood, but every cm of the floor, door and sink, solid with several coats of blood. and thats hwere my shift ended, so dunno what happend after that lol

ooooooohhhso, somebody is going to need to restrain me before I wring that bitches neck. the "bitch" is Electra. currently she is being kept 100% seperate from my other dogs. why? lets see..we will start with yesterday...I was watching a dog for a few hours and my my friend walked in with the dog, Electra turned around and attacked Misty..she tore of her legs pretty good before GRABBING HER NECK and DRAGGING her(Misty was on her side, she will litterally being DRAGGED) into the dining room, where I had to repeatedly beat her on the head to make her let go. so Electra was in confinment all day yesterday..she seemed to be fine later in the evening and today during the day....until supper time. I fed everyone all was good..Ladybug and Arctic and Happy are slow eaters so I was supervising them since everyone else had finished, Electra marched over to Arctics bowl and tried to steal her food..to make a point that this was NOT acceptable, I thundered at her and she was like "oh shit" and backed away..into Happy...where she turned around and tried to steal her chicken! because Happy is extremly sensitive, I calmly told her to back off...so what does she do? she turnes around..looks at me..looks at LADYBUG, runs over, GRABS HER FOOD FROM HER MOUTH, wrentches it out of Ladybugs teeth and runs! oooooohhhh I smacked her so hard my hands are still ringing. she is once again cooling her heels, alone in the bathroom..scareaming about the injustice of it all naturally.

I had better damn well get the results of that heartworm test soon, because I want her fixed NOW, before I kill her would be preferable.

interesting day...Electra was SUPPOSED to get spayed today..the appointment was made, she was fasted since 9 last night I brought her in, the vet looked her over and listened to our concerns...ran a million tests, diagnosed her with mild epilepsy(her spacing out episodes are not her being "weird" they are seizures), and we are waiting to hear back in the heartworm test. fingers crossed THAT comes back negative so we can reschedual her spay for as soon as humanly possable. the rest of her tests came back normal thank goodness!

I keep thinking about Ladybug lately...I dont think she is going to survive the year, not at the rate she isgoing downhill. I mean dont get me wrong..for a 13 year old large dog with bad hips in heart failure she is doing incredable, and she does OK once she gets her "meds"(Turmeric-a natural cox-2 inhibitor, and Hawthorn-a natural heart support suppliment) before she has them though she cannot even get up most of the time anymore..some days she manages, other all she can do is lift her head, and lower it back down unable to do anything more. once she has her "meds" she can bounce around, do the stairs and even jump into the car, but still nothing at all like she was only 5 months ago, when she could outlast my BCs without any sort of med at all. now even with her meds, the best she can manage is a 15 minute leashed walk before she is stumbling and unable to go any longer. she is declining very rapidly :'( it makes me cry when I think about it.

we do have more gerbil babies! Penny X Spook new litter was finally born last night, 5 babies, 1 spotted agoutie and FOUR DEH/Honey Cream! we are very exited..usually we get an entire litters of colours we dont want with maybe 1 of a desirable colour. 4 DEH or Honey Creams to choose from will be a dream!! the previous 2 litters all went to their new homes already, we only have Angel and Pinta now :( oh and we finally got our Steppe Lemmings too! cool little pets, we call them R2 and D2 :p

ok now that I vented and got THAT off my chest...we have babies!!!! Gerbils that is:

Penny and Spook gave us 4 little ones, 1 solid agouti girl, 1 solid agouti bob tailed boy, 1 pied agouti girl, I am keeping and calling "Pinta" and 1 spotted Honey Creme girl going to Alberta, curretly being called "Clara.

Sky and Spirit gave us 6 little ones, 1 female solid Siamese going to Alberta called "Sunshine", 1 male spotted Siamese called "Gumpy"..dunno if we are keeping him or if he is going to moosejaw or what, a female PEW we are calling "Angel" she is staying here, and 3 Blacks males.

and since Munchkin and Prize, who were sexed as males by at least 3 differnt people, never bothered to "grow a set"..AKA, they are both GIRLS, we have to do some switch ups....so now we are waiting for babies from:

Prize and Bilby
Chelsey and Mimas
Munchkin and Dylan

and the others are 4 weeks old, so were are expecting more from Penny and Spook, and Sky and Spirit shortly :p

oh and miss Miami grew AGAIN..she is over 3 feet long and 235 grams now, she seems to be shedding every month and a half..thats faster then Rook was shedding at 1 year lol
am I the only one who find leash walking annoying? for YEARS I have simpley walked my dogs to the nearest fields and played with them off leash....then a stupid ass AC person decided to move into the naighborhood..I figered that out when he turned up at the park..I played idiot so he gave me a warning. at first I thought it was a fluke, until I was walking around and realized that he now lives a couple blocks from me! now, to keep from winding up with a $100 fine per dog, I actually have to keep them on leashes..I HATE HATE HATE leash walking. seriously, it doesnt matter how well my dogs behave on the leashes, it never fails to raise my temper and make me want to scream and strangle somebody; if one of the dogs so much and tries to cross behind me, walk in front of me and lag behind me, I just start going off on them and then nobody is happy. I dont know WHY it pisses me off so much, it just does, and then I get home ready to rip someones throat out, and the dogs are scared, which angers me more.....ya, its a problem. so then you think, take the dogs to the dog park...of wonderful thought, but just how do you suppose I GET to the dog park? I dont drive, and it aint walking distance. so you think, why not take them to work, its pretty much a control dogpark after all...well, gee there is a thought, ya know its not someothing I already do all the time, wanna know how well that works? I have been taking them with me for over a YEAR, they still wont play, they get all exited to come, then they glue themselves to my side the entire time, when I try to put them outside trying to get them over it, they sit at the door and scream for hours until somebody lets them in and they once again glue themselves to my side again. wonderful, so this now means that I have 5 extremly active dogs that I cant for an f'ing thing with.

boy am I behind lol. the critters from Europe arrived a while ago already. 5 new Gerbils:

Munckin: mottled Black
Spirit: Siamese
Prize: Slate
Chelsey: Grey Agouti
Spook: Schimmel

plus 1 new big girl...Miami a Checkerd Garter snake who is WWAAAAYYY bigger then we expected! 33.5" to be exact...and that was before she shed yesterday.

and the door I bought for the birds is now installed, Timo and Toivo are lovin it. I am still amused by how attached they are to eachother. I still cant believe it, its like they are kindered spirits, Toivo is 4 years old, Timo is 2, yet the moment Timo came out of his carry box, Toivo..rather then get upset, fell in love, he started singing at the sight of Timo and to this day I cannot seperate them. Toivo is very skittish of people, and sometimes he will just freak out and refuse to get near me..all I have to do is tell Timo "step up" walk over to Toivo with Ti on my hand, and Toivo will forget his fears and happily jump on my hand. I dont quite understand it, but for some reason its like Toi NEEDS Ti, and he knew it from the second they layed eyes on one another.

in other news....next year we are getting more Europe Gerbils! and actually we can tell AGS to stuff it lol. back in June they brought over some Blue Gerbils from Europe, but they are keeping them under tight wraps, AGS breeders are the only ones allowed near them.. because god knows they cant let "lesser" humans lay eyes on a colour that is not controlled at all in Europe..where it originated lol. our friend in Quebec that imported our most recent guys, he got a hold of a breeder in Europe who agree'd to hold onto a group of her muations until he get get there in Septemeber. we will be getting Blue(Dilute Black) and since we now have Slate we will also be able to produce Smoke(Dilute Slate) . she also has a coat mutation called Angora that we will be getting..we dont know much about that yet though.
